Catriona Watt

Catriona has been a student assistant at the Chair of Public & Planetary Health at the University of Bayreuth since January 2025.

She studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, in Scotland, where her interest in global and planetary health was awakened. Following the completion of her Bachelor’s degree, she enrolled in an Environmental Science course at the Open University, to give herself an understanding of the workings of the natural world. This informed her choice to come to the University of Bayreuth to start her Master’s degree in Environment, Climate Change and Health, which she is relishing so far. She is particularly interested in the intersection between nutrition, food production, health and the environment.

During her free time, she loves to run, cycle and hike, exploring the nature in and around Bayreuth. In addition, she’s currently on the look-out for a good wild swimming spot!
