eHealth Research Partner Group (eHRPG)
The project has established an eHealth Research Partner Group (eHRPG) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi Ghana. The eHRPG uses interdisciplinary methods to develop, implement and evaluate digital health technologies in Ghana. These are seen as essential tools for the transformation of healthcare systems in Africa.
In close cooperation with scientists from the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) and the KNUST, the eHRPG promotes education and research in the field of digital health in the context of national health systems. Among other things, research scholarships are awarded to African doctoral students.
The eHRPG uses interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research methods to:
1) investigate how a large telemedicine program in Ghana has broken through the traditional regulatory boundaries of the health system,
2) identify the factors that have contributed to the uptake of telemedicine programs by health care providers,
3) gain insights for expanding the application and use of digital health services in Ghana as well as in other countries.
